Bladderwrack has an awful sounding name, but is a high iodine, high quality type of kelp and the best therapy for sluggish, hypothyroids. Its iodine content stimulates one's thyroid function, unlike the prescription Synthroid. Synthroid inhibits one's thyroid function and does not provide all the T components that a normal thyroid produces.
