Chlorophyll may be a very potent anticancer agent. A study reported in the journal Mutation Research compared the anticancer effect of chlorophyll to beta-carotene, vitamin E, vitamin C and vitamin A.

Chlorophyll was proven to be a more effective antimutagen than all of these. Also important is chlorophyll's ability to neutralize aflatoxin, which is a mold that grows on corn and peanuts and the most dangerous cancer causing agent in our food supply. While vitamin A and beta-carotene can neutralize aflatoxins to some degree, chlorophyll is much more effective. Chlorophyll is also an internal deodorant.

Chloroplex contains beta-carotene which has a well established anti-cancer effect. Other carotenoids may also decrease the risk of cancer. These other carotenoids produce a different anticancer effect than beta-carotene. Pancreatic cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer fatalities. Beta-carotene does not reduce the risk of pancreatic cancer but studies show that the carotenoid lycopene does.

Chloroplex contains the carotenoids beta-carotene, lycopene and lutein as well as freeze dried cabbage which also has an anti-cancer effect. The newest version of Chloroplex contains broccoli concentrate which has a number of anticancer benefits.
