Yan Hu Suo (corydaline) possesses strong analgesic properties directly on the central nervous system to relieve pain. It also exerts strong anti-inflammatory activity and is effective in both acute and chronic phases of inflammation. Furthermore, corydalis has been very successfully used as a local anesthetic prior and post surgery.Suggested dosage:
Powder costs a few dollars more, but you get more for your money than capsules. However, the taste is a little bitter.
You can encapsulate the powder yourself, or place in a little hot tea or water. It is a good value because one must take large doses of the capsules for pain (4-8 capsules every 4 hours).
Mild pain: 3-4 capsules every 4-6 hours
Severe pain: 4-8 capsules every 4-6 hours
Or take 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon in warm water.
